Ex Liverpool coaches set to join Steven Gerrard

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been appointed as the manager of Premier League club Aston Villa on Thursday. Former Liverpool coaches are expected to join Steven Gerrard at the villa park as a part of his team.

The 41-year-old left the Scottish premiership club rangers after three years to join Aston Villa. In the 2020/21 season, Gerrard led Rangers to a record-breaking season as rangers win the Scottish premiership after ten years. Moreover, Rangers won the title without losing a single league game.

Gerrard has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Villa Park after taking over the roles and responsibilities from Dean Smith.

Steven Gerrard and Liverpool coaches to reunite

Gerrard has returned to the Premier League as Aston Villa’s new head coach. When Steven Gerrard left Liverpool under 18 manager role in 2018 and moved to Rangers his Liverpool supporting staff left the Reds and joined with him in Rangers.

They were assistant manager Gary McAllister, first-team coach Michael Beale, Head of performance Milsom, technical coach Culshaw, and first-team analyst Mason. They all worked with Gerrard in Liverpool’s academy before joining him at Glasgow three years ago.

Gerrard values his backroom staff and gives them a lot of credit for having played a vital role in his success. Speaking to UEFA T.V Gerrard told.

“For me, I’ve tried to surround myself with people who’ve got the skillsets that I probably don’t necessarily have right now, being a young manager,”

On Thursday Aston villa confirmed that Beale, McAllister, Culshaw, Milsom, and Mason were all part of the package. 

This is a big step for Steven Gerrard in his career and to test himself in the premier league. Many Liverpool fans wanted Steven Gerrard to be the successor of Jurgen Klopp. Thus, this opportunity allows him to taste what it is to be a manager for a premier league side. 

On December 11th this year, Liverpool host Aston Villa at Anfield. It will be a reunion for all the coaching Staffs and while it will also be Gerrard’s first trip to Anfield as a manager.
