Salah breaks Premier League record set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry
Liverpool thumped Everton 4-1 on Wednesday as Salah broke another Premier League record. The Egyptian has been on fire this season who also broke a record during their 5-0 triumph against the Red Devils.
Salah became the highest African goalscorer in the Premier League, thus breaking Didier Drogba’s record.
The Egypt international has a total of 19 goals in as many games for the Reds in all tournaments. On Wednesday night he lit Goodison Park.
Salah scored twice in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.
His first goal was a wonderful bending shot across Jordan Pickford into the far corner. Moreover, his second was all about an exploitive instinct.
Salah took advantage of an error by Everton captain Seamus Coleman to race away from the halfway line. The 29-year-old just had to slot a shot past Jordan Pickford.
During the contest, the Reds’ star also set a further record. Salah made it seven consecutive Premier League away matches with a goal or an assist. Moreover, he also left behind Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in contributing the most number of goals in just 14 games. The Egyptian surpassed Henry’s previous record of 20 which was set during the 2004/05 season.

Despite the achievement, Jurgen Klopp stated that the winger was “angry” in the locker room after the game.
Moreover, the Reds will have to prepare for his absence in the next month. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will depart for the Africa Cup of Nations next month, leaving voids in the Reds’ starting XI.
Their absence is already making Jurgen Klopp tensed, as Liverpool are yet to find replacements for them. Only Jota, Minamino and Origi are available candidates. Hence, The Reds will be looking for additions in the upcoming transfer window.
Many players have been linked over the months, in fact, few deals were close but are yet to be finalised. We will have to wait and see what FSG and Liverpool have in mind to cope up with their absences.
