Reports: Second source confirms Liverpool now preparing a bid for Serie A midfielder

Liverpool are preparing to bid for Inter Milan’s star midfielder Nico Barella in hope of a midfield revolution.

The lackluster midfield is undoubtedly the biggest problem that has plagued Liverpool’s season so far.

James Milner, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho are just a few players who have been below average. Only Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic routinely perform at a high level. Although the former is prone to injuries, the latter is only 18 years old.

The contracts of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and James Milner will expire at the end of the current campaign. The Reds won’t exercise their option to purchase Arthur Melo, whose loan will expire this Summer.

Overall, the midfield will need an extensive rebuild before the start of next season. The main objective is bringing Jude Bellingham. But it appears that Liverpool will need multiple additions.

Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella is a well-known name recently linked with Liverpool.

The 26-year-old is a mainstay for his country and is Inter’s greatest midfield asset at the moment. He has 42 caps for Italy and has scored eight goals throughout that time.

Nico Barella may solve midfield concerns for Liverpool

The Nerazzuri are exceedingly reluctant to sever ways with their midfield dynamo because they value her greatly. However, the club’s precarious financial situation has started to fuel rumours that they would sell out.

It is known that Inter has to raise about €60 million by June 30 to balance the books. As a result, one or two high-profile sales are likely in the first month of the summer window.

One player that could contribute to making up a sizable portion of the deficit is Dumfries. Despite his €30m valuation at age 30, Tottenham-linked Brozovic is another player who might leave.

Conversely, a player like Barella would make it possible for Inter to raise all the money they require much more quickly. By choosing that course, coach Simone Inzaghi will be able to minimize the commotion elsewhere in his team.

Goldrick has been keeping a careful eye on Barella. Goldrick is in charge of evaluating talent from Serbia, Croatia, Italy, and Switzerland.

Yet head scout Barry Hunter has also just started watching Barella. He is undoubtedly a player in whom the Reds are seriously interested.

Corriere dello Sport has thrown gasoline to the fire by acting as a second source for transfer that could result in Barella joining the Reds, as reported by FCInterNews.

They first repeat the earlier assertions about Liverpool’s interest in Barella. Second, they claim that Inter Milan and the agent of Barcelona player Franck Kessie are about to have a new meeting.

Kessie is a Serie A veteran who plays in the same position as Barella. The report implies that a Kessie swoop would then result in an exit for Barella or Brozovic.
