Liverpool are getting ready for an explosive transfer window as they have made some high-profile players as their summer transfer targets, according to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Reds are evaluating their latest summer transfer target & Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

Rumors are that the English international is heading toward Anfield. Addressing these rumors on the  YouTube channel Fabrizio said

Romano on Liverpool summer targets

“They are still speaking and discussing but at the moment everything is on standby there’s still no agreement between Chelsea and Mason Mount.

It’s one to watch in May, June, and July otherwise for Chelsea it could be the case to explore options on the market and discuss with other clubs. We have many rumors about Liverpool. They are indeed informed on the situation of Mount, but we also know about Jude Bellingham and other players like Matheus Nunes. They have a very big list of midfielders in the summer. But for sure Mount is one to watch.”

The Italian journalist also said that the final decision on the England international will happen before next season kicks off

“The decision is expected to be made before the beginning of next season,”

said Romano.

Why Mason Mount?

The 24-year-old is a good option for the English giants. Mount possess two key things that the Reds lack in the middle of the park. Firstly, the Chelsea midfielder is always fit. The English international has only missed 10 Premier League games since breaking into the blue’s first team in 2019.

The second key factor is his pace. Klopp’s midfield lacks speed and intensity which are both provided by the current blue midfielder.

The Reds are monitoring the London club’s situation right now. If they fail to reach an agreement at Stamford Bridge between now and the summer, the English star boy might be on his way towards Anfield.
