The advisor of Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram is at the club’s headquarters today amid reported interest in the player from Liverpool.
As per SkySports, the Reds have held preliminary talks with the French side over a move for the 22-year-old. The club has valued the youngster at around £51.4 million. The transfer isn’t as smooth for both parties as expected.
As per reports, the Nice owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s involvement in the Manchester United takeover process is affecting the club’s transfer business. This could result in the French club having a lower transfer budget if the takeover is successful.
After a ninth-placed finish in Ligue-1, Nice are keen to sign reinforcements. This could result in them accepting a lower fee for Thuram if funds are desperately required.
But for now, it seems as if the Merseysiders are in the early stages of trying to lure the midfielder to Anfield. But a new post from the player’s advisor could hold the key to new developments.
Thuram advisor spotted in Nice headquarters amidst Liverpool interest
Thuram is represented by the ‘super agent’ Rafaela Pimenta, who advises the player alongside Lilian Thuram. Pimenta took over Mino Raiola’s agency of star players upon the Italian’s death in 2022.
Posting to Instagram, she shared a photo of herself sitting in the lobby area of Nice’s headquarters. She might subtly be indicating that some sort of business will be undertaken.
Moreover, as per various reports, the personal terms between the player and Liverpool have been agreed. It is the clubs that are negotiating over a possible transfer fee for the player.
Liverpool have been chasing the French U21 player for quite a while now along with his French teammate, Manu Kone. The French duo are said to be quite close and have been in great form this season.
Their impressive performances have garnered interest from top clubs in Europe. Liverpool are said to be in pole position to sign the French midfield duo. If this is to happen, the Liverpool midfield would be a force to reckon with the next season.
