Liverpool will be looking to replace the outgoing midfielder, Fabinho with the latest name being Benfica’s young talent, Florentino Luis.
The 29-year-old Brazilian is reportedly on the move to Saudi after agreeing personal terms with Al-Ittihad. The clubs, however, are yet to decide on the fee and are in talks with the player.
There had been a lot of speculations and the fans are convinced that the player is heading to the Middle East. This was when his wife was seen following a page on Insta titled, ‘welcomesaudi.’
Moreover, the transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano took on Twitter to share the news. He said that the midfielder hasn’t traveled to Germany along with the Liverpool squad for the pre-season.
Moreover, the rumours of Jordan Henderson accepting personal terms with Gerrard’s team in Saudi has become worrying for the Reds’ faithful as well.
This would mean that Klopp will now look for a replacement for the midfield duo, or possibly two. Some of the names being thrown around are Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.
However, Liverpool journalist Neil Jones has now added a new name to the list of midfielders that the Reds should sign.
‘Keep an eye’: Florentino Luis tipped to be Liverpool player, Fabinho’s successor
Liverpool journalist, Neil Jones has suggested that Florentina Luis could be the one replacing Fabinho.
“A name I would urge you to look out for is Florentino Luis who plays for Benfica. I think he’s one who could come into contention. He’s a very Fabinho-type player, defensive midfielder, gets about the pitch, gets his foot in. If Liverpool are looking for a like for like replacement, then they could do a lot worse than look at Luis.
So, just keep an eye on that name. I’ve not heard of anything moving on that one right now but it’s certainly one I’d keep in mind.”
He has been described on Breaking The Lines as a midfielder who is an ‘aggressive presser of the ball’ among other things. Now, it certainly seems like Luis is a player who would suit Klopp and Liverpool.
Moreover, there is a great relationship between the English club and the Portuguese club. Hence, this could act as a great advantage for the Reds.
This is a new name for Liverpool fans to keep tabs on as well. It will certainly be interesting to see who the Reds do go for, and whether or not Luis is a name that gathers momentum.
