Is Liverpool still Interested in signing Jarrod Bowen?

Is the 24-year-old west ham winger Jarrod Bowen still on the transfer list of Liverpool? The Athletic claimed that the Reds had tabs on Bowen in the summer 2021 transfer window.

In January 2020 West Ham United signed Jarrod Bowen for 25 million pounds. Bowen Scored 17 goals in 32 appearances for Hull City in the championship and was one of the top talents in England’s second league championship.

Bowen has scored 3 goals and 3 assists in 15 appearances for the Hammers this season across all competition and he is in good form too.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp likes Bowen

Liverpool reportedly looked to sign Jarrod Bowen after signing the young defender Ibrahima Konate. With Xherdan Shaqiri’s move to Lyon, Bowen became one of the top transfer targets for the Reds.

Liverpool will be facing West Ham United in the Premier League this Sunday. It is going to be an away fixture as the Reds go to the London Stadium to extend their unbeaten record. Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp spoke about West Ham United and Bowen in the Pre-match press conference.

Klopp Said

“It’s good fun watching them. They have become a high intense team.”

I like (Jarrod) Bowen a lot. He worked his way up from Hull. He’s made big steps.”

Klopp’s Attention towards the striker shows that Liverpool are still interested in signing the wingman from the Hammers. The Reds haven’t signed any player in the attacking department after selling three forwards in the 2021 summer transfer window.

With Salah and Mane leaving the club for a month to participate in the African Cup of Nations in January. Liverpool needs some firepower in the attacking half of their games. With Roberto Firmino limping off the field with a hamstring issue against Atletico Madrid this Wednesday, the Reds are in search of a player who can strengthen their bench.

With Salah and Mane out Liverpool needs wingers to replace their shoes and Jarrod Bowen could turn out to be a decent sub for the Reds.
