Premier League referee now suspended by UEFA as new video emerges

Premier League referee David Coote is now suspended by UEFA also, after a new video which emerged yesterday. Coote is set to be investigated by an ethics and disciplinary inspector was has been appointed by UEFA.

David Coote was immediately suspended by the PGMOL after a video which came out on Monday. Coote was seen making derogatory comments about Liverpool and Klopp.

UEFA suspend David Coote

After the initial video released on Monday, another video was released on Wednesday which showed Coote snorting a white powder. The Sun, who published the video reported the incident took place during the Euro 2024. This led to UEFA suspending Coote and launching an investigation into him.

UEFA said in a statement: “A UEFA ethics and disciplinary inspector has been appointed to evaluate a potential violation of the UEFA disciplinary regulations by the referee Mr David Coote. Further information regarding this matter will be made available in due course.”

PGMOL spokesman said on Wednesday: “We are aware of the allegations and are taking them very seriously. David Coote remains suspended pending a full investigation,”

“David’s welfare continues to be of utmost importance to us and we are committed to providing him with the ongoing necessary support he needs through this period.”

Until the investigation is complete David Coote will not be listed on any UEFA and Premier League matches. It is uncertain even if he will be back to refereeing professional football.
