Premier League attacker release clause revealed as title rival joins race alongside Liverpool

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close watch on West Ham United’s rising star, Mohammed Kudus, as the Premier League gears up for another transfer battle.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian has made quite an impression since joining West Ham from Ajax in the summer of 2023, and his performances have already drawn attention from top clubs.

With an £85 million release clause set to become active next summer, the race to sign Kudus could heat up fast.

Kudus made his debut for West Ham with high expectations, having been a standout player in the Dutch Eredivisie.

His first season with the Hammers has showcased his versatility, with the forward slotting into various roles, from his favoured No.10 spot to both flanks and even up front.

This adaptability has made him a valuable asset, not just for West Ham but also as a target for Premier League giants seeking a player with a flexible skill set.

Mohammed Kudus – The Premier League journey so far

Despite his talent, Kudus has experienced ups and downs this season. He has scored two goals in eight league appearances and provided one assist in ten matches across all competitions.

However, he has struggled for consistency, mirroring his team’s rocky start to the season. Recently, he faced a setback with a five-match ban for violent conduct after receiving a red card against Tottenham Hotspur.

This suspension has kept him off the field, and he won’t return to action until West Ham’s December 3 match against Leicester City.

Even with his recent challenges, interest in Kudus remains high. Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs considering a move, with the Daily Mail stating that West Ham “are expected to stand firm on Mohammed Kudus’ £85 million release clause.”

For Liverpool, Kudus’ flair and versatility could be a valuable addition to their squad as they continue their push for titles under manager Arne Slot. Arsenal, meanwhile, may see Kudus as a potential boost to their attacking lineup.

Kudus has expressed satisfaction with life at the London Stadium but remains open to a move, especially if it means playing for a club with Champions League ambitions.

This desire for European competition could make a transfer to one of the league’s top clubs attractive if an offer materializes.

With his current West Ham contract running until 2028, any move for Kudus will require a significant financial commitment.

For now, fans will watch closely as he joins the Ghana national team for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger. After serving his suspension, Kudus will aim to make a strong return to help West Ham in their climb up the Premier League table.
