Alisson Becker (GK) – 7.5/10

The Brazilian had hardly any part to play between the sticks for Liverpool. The Magpies managed only 2 shots on target out of the 4 taken by them.

Joe Gomez (RB) – 8/10

Stepping in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez is continuing to showcase his skills at the back.

Helping the custodian in front of the defence as well as running down the right flank and passing crucial balls in.

The Player almost had an assist for a Sadio Mane goal, as it was ruled off-side eventually.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 8/10

The commander of the Reds’ defence was as ‘strong as ever and kept the Newcastle attackers and forwards under his control.

Much work wasn’t required from the Dutch National Captain and it was enough for him to keep a clean sheet for the team.

Joel Matip (CB) – 7.5/10

Joel Matip stayed solid at the back, although had to control the threat Allan Saint-Maximin, but he had him check throughout the game.

Andy Robertson (LB) – 7/10

The Scottish International perfectly handled the left side and didn’t let the Newcastle players get through or cut in.

The player did have to involve himself much in the forward as well today.

Midfielders

James Milner (CM) – 7.5/10

In the build-up to Naby Keita’s goal in the 19th minute, Milner had made a crucial tackle and put the ball forward.

Played some good balls during the game, and looked well settled and not at all out of place.

Naby Keita (CM) – 8.5/10

The goal scorer was impressive during the whole game and looked more compassionate than his counterparts.

The midfielder made the most runs forward compared to the other midfielders in the team.

His lone goal was enough to see the Reds through comfortably.

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 7/10

The Liverpool captain had a balanced game, much of his efforts were involved in passing, he ended his game with 93% accurate passes.

The player had also stepped in to take a free-kick but the shot left the regular takers in amusement.

Forwards

Luis Diaz (RW) – 8/10

The latest signing of Liverpool has been a constant threat to all the opponents he has played against.

With his sheer pace, he was charging up and down the flank, which adds to yet another impressive performance.

Diogo Jota (ST) – 7.5/10

The Portuguese had a quiet game today, as he didn’t have much part to play in the well-controlled game by the Reds.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 6/10

Sadio Mane didn’t have one of the best games, as tried taking a few shots as well, but couldn’t get any success.

The player had to be removed from the game during the second half.
