After, a thrilling match against Newcastle United, Liverpool have broken the club record and became the first English club to win 2000 matches.

Yesterday, the match against Newcastle United was very crucial for the Reds in terms of the Premier League title race as they are now only 1 point behind Manchester City and every match is getting more and more intense as the Premier League is coming towards its season end.

Liverpool are already chasing quadruple this season as they are in the UCL semi-final, Premier League title race, FA Cup final and they already have won the Carabao Cup. While doing this they have also managed to break a record.

Liverpool breaking club record under Jurgen Klopp

Yesterday, Naby Keita scored early and helped the Reds to be in the title race and also helped in becoming the first English club to register 2,000 top-flight victories.

Moreover, we can expect another record to be broken in the coming days or weeks as Klopp’s men are just two goals away from matching the club’s highest tally of goals scored in a season. The highest the Reds have scored is 138 in the season 1985-86.

Also, if they somehow manage to win the Premier League which seems difficult for the Merseyside club, and if they win the other competitions as well, they will be the first team in England to win 4 titles in a single season.

Important matches for Liverpool

Liverpool have some important matches to play and every match is like a final for them. The matches are as follows.

  1. Liverpool have to play the UCL semi-finals 2nd leg against Villarreal in a couple of days.
  2. The Reds also have another final to play against Chelsea to be the champions of the FA Cup on the 14th of May.
  3. Only 3 matches are left for Liverpool in the Premier League and every match is important for them.
