Liverpool vs Arsenal – Player Ratings

Goal Keeper and Defenders

Allison (GK) – 8/10

Alisson had nothing much to do in both the halves. One routine stop in the first of and two brilliant saves in the second of denying Aubameyang and Partey. Alisson starts the beautiful counter goal which was tapped in by Salah for Liverpool’s third in the game.

Trent Alexander Arnold (RB) – 9/10 ( Man of the Match)

Another brilliant performance from Liverpool’s no. 66. The young right-back had a brilliant game in both attacking and defending. Couldn’t finish the shot after a good run. Two beautiful assists to Mane and Minamino for the first and fourth goals. Very active performance at the right flank.

Joel Matip (CB) – 8/10

He stood strong in the defence, his passing was good. Arsenal attackers didn’t trouble the Cameroonian much. he stood tall in free kicks. a good day at the office for Joel

Virgil Van Dijk (CB) – 8/10

One amazing performance from the Dutch skipper who was at his best. Virgil wore the armband till the arrival of Henderson. Stood Strong in defence and marked Aubameyang very tightly, beautiful distributions to the wingers and as calm as usual.

Kostas Tsimikas (LB) – 7/10

The Left-back played so well with wicked crosses into the box. He was dominant in both halves, his passes were accurate. Liverpool are in trouble deciding which left-back to play every week.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CDM) – 9/10

A dominated performance in Midfield from Fabinho. He made sure the midfield line is properly organised. Beautiful interventions, tackling when needed, beautiful distribution of the ball. He was all over the pitch a really good performance from the Brazilian.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) – 9/10

What a confident performance from Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. he was brilliant in the first half driving forward whenever he had the chance. A brilliant block in the six-yard box, he created a number of chances breaking Arsenal’s defence and his side-footed attempt was off the target.

Thiago Alcantara (CM) – 8/10

This was his first game starting in the lineup after his injury. He was sloppy with his passes at the beginning but then he was back at it. Good performance from the No.6 he never rushed during the press. Made a huge impact by opening up the defence.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 9/10

Salah was brilliant at the right with some beautiful touches. he didn’t get many shooting chances but played a huge role in creating chances. Beautiful pass to Jota who should have scored, a press that led Jota to steal and finish it off with a goal. A beautiful tap in to score his first and Liverpool’s third. Superbly released Trent who found Minamino for the fourth. Another good performance from the Egyptian king.

Diogo Jota  (CF) – 8/10

Once again Jota was all over the Gunners defence line. He was busy up and down the field, scored a sublime goal in the second half. Beautiful headed passes to open mane in the counter which ended in the third goal. A good performance from the Portuguese.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 8/10

Mane had a busy first half compared to the second. he gave away the ball, riled up Arteta, booked for a foul on Ben White. Scored the first goal of the night with a header from a free kick. He was good with the ball in the second half, with a brilliant run and an assist to Salah.

Subsitutes

Takumi Minamino (LW) – 7/10

Came in for Jota in the 75th minute, his first touch of the night was a tap in to give his first Anfield goal. Overall a decent performance from the Japanese International.

Jorden Henderson (CM) – 7/10

Henderson cam in the 75th minute replacing Oxlade-Chamberlain on the field. A beautifully lofted pass to mane ended with the fourth goal.

Tyler Morton (CM) – N/A

A Premier League debut came in for Thiago at the 84th minute, didn’t get many touches on the ball.

With 8 injuries, people were wondering what will Liverpool do, who’s gonna step up. Well, the whole team did, Amazing performance from each and every player who stepped on the field. Really a brilliant performance after two disappointing weeks and a big smile from the manager Jurgen Klopp
