The highest-scoring fixture in the Premier League history never disappoints. As Liverpool cruises past 4 goals against Arsenal to get back to the winning ways after the international break, let’s have a look at the match highlights.

The kick-off saw an intense crowd at Anfield. With both teams playing a highly intense game, the managers (Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta.) couldn’t control their emotions and thus received a yellow card at the 32nd-minute mark for their behaviour at the sidelines. Following which Liverpool scored from an impeccable set-piece. The goal-scorer turned out to be Sadio Mane, whose tackle was the reason behind the heated argument between the managers.

The showdown for the first half ended with a scoreline favouring Liverpool with a goal to that of Arsenal’s nil.

The second half saw the Reds taking full control over the game. Soon after the 2nd half began, Arsenal offered a gift to Diago Jota, who took it with his open arms. With this, Liverpool now had a 2-goal cushion. Moreover, the Gunners struggled to keep the ball, courtesy of Liverpool’s high pressing gameplay. Thus, this eventually resulted in a classic counter-attacking goal from Liverpool. Mo and Mane’s breathtaking breakaway was rewarded with a 3rd goal for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Arsenal never really troubled Alisson apart from their 1 or 2 chances in the game. However, Liverpool were looking unstoppable on the night. Thus, even the players on the bench were all fired up. With Minamino brought on the pitch in place of the Portuguese, Liverpool got their 4th with the first touch of the Japanese forward.

Meaning, Liverpool won the game comfortably to close down the gap to 4 points with the table leaders Chelsea.
