Caoimhin Kelleher (GK) – 8/10

With Alisson result came positive for Covid-19 with an hour remaining for the kickoff. A last-minute call for the young Irish goalkeeper. He was brilliant as he did a massive save in one on one situations with Pulisic. great punch to save the free-kick. But was unlucky with the first goal and he had nothing to do with the second. but a decent and steady performance as he stood up in one the biggest match he has ever played in his career so far.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 7/10

A decent performance from him bit sloppy at the start. then beautiful assist to Salah, another wonderful pass so close to being a second assist. good switch plays. He was more in a defensive role in the second half made an important block and a far post-clearance as well.

Ibrahima Konate (CB) – 6/10

The young defender still has to learn a lot as he was caught out of position, a lot of runs went past him. he left space between Trent and Virgil trying to win incoming passes. won some crucial challenges he has the strength and pace but lacks experience.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 6/10

Not his best performance. The Dutch skipper won the aerial duels. He couldn’t cover the space left by Konate and people were fuming that he could have closed down Pulisic who went on and scored the equaliser.

Kostas Tsimikas (LB) – 7/10

Tsimikas was unlucky as he got hit in the face, kicked in the shoulder and mount got away with it. He couldn’t deliver perfect crosses as he was sprinting with pressure before crossing. launched counter-attacks and he stopped loads of crosses from his side.

Midfielder

Fabinho (CDM) – 6.5/10

He was brilliant defensively as usual, but once they started opening up the wingers it was difficult. Found himself in dangerous areas but still emerged with the ball. try to push the team up but it was limited and it felt like he was the only man in midfield against Chelsea.

Jordan Henderson (CM)– 4/10

A poor display from the skipper in the second game in a row, found it so hard to hold the ball. Most of his first touches were clearances. He really needs to find his form back soon. With players getting affected by covid and injuries, it is important we have players in the field performing strong.

James Milner (CM) – 6/10

A decent performance from mister reliable. He was so good at the right side linking up, lots of tackles and beautiful distribution of the ball. He was brilliant till the two goals after that his performance went down. With Milner causing the foul and instability in the midfield led to those goals.

He is 36 but still picked over Keita and Chamberlain. It concludes their performances Liverpool need a strong Midfield if they still want to challenge for the title.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 8/10

It was his last game this month for the Reds. Salah scored his 150th goal in English football, with a brilliant goal from a tight angle. A long-range effort was so close to being the third. a good performance from the Egyptian king. The Reds will definitely miss and feel his absence in the game.

Diogo Jota (ST) – 5/10

Another goalless game for the Portuguese forward. He was everywhere and he gave the defenders a lot of trouble but he couldn’t do any big impact. He had to find the back of the net in the upcoming games with the trio not available.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 6/10

He’s still searching his form, booked before he even got a touch of the ball. With two errors coming his way one he couldn’t set it but the second he buried it into the net with some beautiful footwork. Still not at his best, but ended his goal drought.

Substitutes

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) – 6/10

In for Diego Jota in the 68th minute. He didn’t play the centre forward role but he was good at sticking with Jorginho and stopped him from creating chances.

Naby Keita – 6/10

Replaced Milner at the 68th minute, few flicks got fouled nothing much from the midfielder.

Curtis Jones (CM)N/A

In for Sadio Mane during the 89th minute, returns after an eye injury and covid. It will take time for him to bring his form back but he has no time as the Reds need every player available to be at their best particularly this month.

Liverpool wanted Salah and Mane to stay back for this game and they both were on the score sheet. Last-minute covid positive results gave setbacks. The Merseyside giants handled it pretty much well. But a few errors in the midfield cost us the game. With a month of action with more than six key players out and with the transfer window opened a lot of action awaits.
