Liverpool will welcome Southampton at Anfield on Saturday’s Premier League clash. The Reds have been in brilliant form this season but their progress came to a halt against West Ham and their long winning streak came to an end.

Liverpool recovered from the defeat at East London and went on to beat North London side Arsenal last weekend and Porto in mid-week captivatingly. Thus, now Klopp and Co. will get ready to face Southampton and would like to continue their winning momentum.

Meanwhile, Southampton finds themselves at 13th place in the league table and they will be eyeing to bounce back after Norwich’s loss last time out. Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will look to nick out something on Saturday after he saw his side win last time when both sides met at St. Mary’s Stadium last season.

A win in a full-packed Anfield is a lot to ask from The Saints and looking at Liverpool’s current form it seems nearly impossible. Thus, a comfortable win is expected from the former Premier League champions.

Liverpool vs Southampton: Match Preview

Liverpool are currently four points beneath leaders Chelsea and a win against Southampton will close the gap to one point and overtake Guardiola’s City to take the second spot.

Both Manchester City and Chelsea have frightening fixtures on Sunday. As Citizens will host resurging Hammers while Blues will welcome The Red devils.

With both clubs facing difficult fixtures, Klopp will look to set an early weekend testimony with a win against The Saints.

So far Liverpool have registered the most number of goals in the Premier League. While The Saints are the second-fewest goal-scoring side after Norwich.

A favourable win for Klopp’s men looks likely with Liverpool are yet to concede a goal so far and have already scored six goals after the International Break.

The Reds have also scored at least two goals in the last 16 games in all competitions. And are yet to suffer a loss at home this season.

The Saints have recorded an aggregate of 12-0 loss in the last four trips at Anfield. And Liverpool’s Red hot forwards will look to continue their magical goal scoring run.

Surely, a routine win is expected from Klopp’s side on Saturday to keep up with Tuchel’s Chelsea.

Team News

Roberto Firmino, Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez and Harvey Elliott will continue to be sidelined for their injuries. Meanwhile, Naby Keita could return this weekend after missing out in team action with a thigh injury.

Captain Jordan Henderson and Fabinho look set to start the game and return to starting eleven after coming on as second-half substitutes in the mid-week clash.

Andy Robertson looks likely to start at left-back for the first time after suffering an injury at the International break.

Liverpool probable starting lineup:

Alisson, Trent Alexander Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane.

Liverpool vs Southampton: Prediction

The Reds are in great goal scoring form with Mohamed Salah looking to take his goals tally to 17 in all competitions on Saturday. Liverpool are likely to recreate a goal-scoring display against The Saints this weekend.

With Klopp key big names well-rested in midweek and looks set to start from where they left off against Arsenal.

A comfortable 3-0 win looks likely.
