Title-chasing Liverpool host relegation candidates Norwich City on Saturday at Anfield in an important Premier League fixture.

Jurgen Klopp’s favorite opponents Norwich City will be at Anfield for a Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.

Klopp’s first-ever meeting with Norwich was a dramatic 5-4 victory during the 2015-16 season. The victory was sealed by Adam Lallana’s 95th-minute winner.

The German has only overseen wins every time against the Canaries. Against no other club in his career has Klopp recorded a lengthier 100% record.

Liverpool vs Norwich City: Pre-match press conference

Two teams at opposite ends of the Premier League standings meet each other at Liverpool’s fortress on Saturday. Liverpool are currently high in form and return to Premier League action after a superb 2-0 victory over Inter Milan at midweek.

Meanwhile, Norwich have improved under their new head coach Dean Smith. The Canaries significantly boosted their performance and form in recent weeks. But their progress was shattered by Man City last week with a devastating 4-0 loss.

The defeat left the Canaries struggling in the relegation zone. Dean Smith’s men are currently sitting at the 18th spot on the table and are four points away from safety.

On the other hand, Liverpool looks like a different team these days. In their recent games, it can be seen there is a different dimension in Liverpool, they are winning ugly.

There can be seen the difference between Liverpool in the recent period and the start of the season. The Reds were leaky in the first half of the season, where they gave oppositions lots of goals and chances.

But now they seem to have tightened up and become confident at the back.

Since a 2-2 draw at Chelsea at the start of 2022, Liverpool have beaten Shrewsbury, Brentford, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Cardiff City, Leicester City, Burnley, and Inter Milan in all competition. Moreover, just conceded three goals in the process.

On Saturday, Norwich have a chance to win back-to-back Premier League away games for the first time in more than a decade. But given Liverpool’s current form and the game is at Anfield, it would be a seismic shock if Norwich can get something from the game.

Also, the constant pace set by Man City at the top of the table means that every Premier League game is effectively a must-win one for Liverpool.

With Klopp’s men playing before Guardiola’s men who are up against Tottenham in a Saturday evening tie, Liverpool can accelerate pressure slightly on the Man City.

Team News

The Champions League win over Inter Milan was overshadowed by Diogo Jota’s swollen ankle. Moreover, some reports suggest Jota seems doubtful for the EFL Cup final on February 27.

Meanwhile, Luis Diaz will be expecting to start the game and continue his fine form along with Firmino and Salah in the attack. Moreover, Henderson and Matip should be back in Klopp’s starting eleven.

Keeping in mind the EFL Cup final next week, Klopp could make changes to his starting XI. Also, in the midweek the Reds are to face Leeds United.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Keita, Fabinho, Henderson; Diaz, Firmino, Salah

Liverpool vs Norwich City : What Anfield Home Predicts

Norwich under Dean Smith’s management have improved in the past month or so. But their loss to Man City last weekend showed that they still struggle against the elite teams.

Moreover, the Canaries’ progress may take a drastic deep downturn when they face Liverpool and could face a similar story as to last week’s defeat to Man City.

Liverpool have already thrashed Norwich 3-0 on two occasions this season, and the Reds could make it a hat-trick of convincing wins on Saturday.

Liverpool looks very likely to prevail over Norwich City with a 3-1 win.
