Player Ratings Burnley vs Liverpool

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Alisson Becker (GK) – 7/10

Inter Milan’s high pressing game really tested the Brazilian’s passing from the back. However, he passed with flying colours. Didn’t have to make a single save in the game, but overall was still solid.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 6/10

Didn’t really have the best games attack wise, but defensively stood strong against a resilient Perisic.

Ibrahima Konate(CB) – 8/10

Had a solid game defensively. Helped cover Trent’s position when the right-back ventured ahead. Also played some passes with 40 accurate passes and 1 key pass. Made 4 interceptions and 4 recoveries. Solid game from the 22-year old.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 9/10

The man of the match for many, the 30-year-old had a brilliant game. Not only did he grab himself a rare assist, but also was the most accurate passer of the ball in the game. Also played 7 accurate long balls.

Andrew Robertson (LB) – 7.5/10

The Scot had a fairly good game. Grabbed himself an assist and played 3 key passes. He was never dispossessed and had 2 interceptions and 4 recoveries.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CM) – 7/10

The main in from helped drive the team forward and also covered up at the back pretty well. However, his passing was a little off with the Brazilian making only 79% of the passes he attempted.

Thiago (CM) – 6.5/10

Only midfielder to survive the first half substitution, the Spaniard had a decent game. Played one really good pass to Salah and had a crucial interception in the second half.

Harvey Elliott (CM) – 6/10

The 18-year-old made his Champions League debut last night, however failed to leave a real mark on the game. Could be blamed for Calhanoglu’s shot which rattled the bar. Could do much better, given his potential.

Forwards

Sadio Mane (LW) – 6/10

Played only 60 minutes before being substituted for Luis Diaz. The AFCON winner almost scored from a Robertson header and troubled the Inter defenders on some occasions.

Diogo Jota (ST) – 6/10

Not the greatest of games from the Portuguese who was replaced by Firmino in the 46th minute. He struggled to get into good positions and didn’t really fit the dynamic required on the night. Hope his injury is alright though!

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 8/10

The Egyptian did score a goal but also lost the most duels in the game(11). He did do a lot of work for the team though, tracking back multiple times, while also holding the ball up well.

Substitutes

Roberto Firmino (ST) – 8/10

Had similar positioning issues as Jota, but unlike the Portuguese, he dropped back and helped in the build-up. Was rewarded for his hard work with a good header.

Luis Diaz (LW) – 7/10

Made a real difference after coming on. Was a livewire throughout and looked way more dangerous compared to Sadio Mane.

Jordan Henderson (CM)- 7/10

Took control of the midfield as soon as he came on and helped outwork the tired Inter legs. A real difference-maker.

Naby Keita (CM) – 7/10

Just like Henderson, Keita came on and took control of the midfield. Helped keep the tempo up.

James Milner (CM) – N/A

He came on only in the 86th minute and did not have time to make any difference in the game.
