Liverpool are on seven matches winning strike in all competition and are eyeing for their eighth win against Newcastle. The Reds previously have snatched two hard-fought wins against Wolves and Aston Villa in Premier League.

Meanwhile, Magpies got their first win of the season against Burnley at home two weeks before. However, last weekend they lost heavily against Leicester.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has a big task as they are looking to get out of the relegation battle. On the other hand, the mighty Reds are in a stiff and tense title race with Man City and Chelsea.

Liverpool vs Newcastle United: Match Preview

Liverpool will be looking to reduce the deficit from the defending champions, Manchester City, who are currently sitting at the top with a thumping win against Leeds on Tuesday.

The Merseyside giants are in good shape and form and are tormenting teams apart. But also, in tight games, Klopp’s side are grinding results in their favour as all witnessed in the previous two weekends’ wins in Premier League.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s team looks clueless and looking for a miracle to survive in the League.

The Magpies’ fortunes haven’t changed at all with the incoming of new billionaire owners and a new head coach. Moreover, they are in serious danger of going down to the Championship with just 10 points registered from 16 games.

Liverpool’s Red hot front three of Salah, Mane, and Jota will look to exploit Newcastle’s leaky defence as Eddie Howe’s side have conceded 34 goals so far. The Tyneside football club is the most goals conceding side along with Norwich so far this season.

Former Premier League champions have had good results in preceding fixtures against the toons. Since winning in Newcastle’s first-ever Premier League visit against Liverpool at Anfield, Magpies are winless in their last 25 visits to Anfield.

Since Jurgen Klopp’s first Premier League loss against Newcastle in December 2015, Liverpool are unbeaten in each of the last nine meetings against the Magpies.

Moreover, Liverpool would also be eyeing the 2000th English top-flight win as they currently sit with 1999 wins from 4226 top-flight fixtures. So, a win against Newcastle will make the Reds the first-ever English side to achieve this incredible feat.

Team News

Curtis Jones, Nat Phillips, and Harvey Elliott will continue to remain out, meanwhile, Divock Origi will be eyeing to come back after missing last weekend’s game against Villa.

Roberto Firmino’s situation is a tricky one and will need to wait and see whether he returns to playing squad. Recently, he marked his return to training after suffering a hamstring injury in early November.

With Tottenham’s game next for Liverpool, Klopp will consider some changes in the starting line-up with Kostas Tsimikas, Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate could be considered in starting eleven against Newcastle.

Liverpool probable starting lineup:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Henderson, Fabinho, Keita; Salah, Jota, Mane

Liverpool vs Newcastle: What Anfield Home Predicts

A home game for Liverpool always makes them the favourites to win it. And with the current solid form of Klopp’s team, Newcastle needs a miracle to get something out of the game.

The Reds are in a tight title race and cannot afford to slip up at any moment. A 3-0 win looks likely for Liverpool which will eventually put more misery on the Tyneside club.
