Nat Phillips is now back in full training, after recovering from a fractured cheekbone, and Newcastle United are eyeing the young defender.

With Just a week remaining Nat Phillips is on the radar of many clubs, Newcastle are showing more interest in the 24-year-old centre-back. The England-born defender joined the Liverpool academy in 2016 and joined the first team in the summer of 2018.

He was loaned to VFB Stuttgart in 2019 where he made 22 appearances for the German side. Phillips has played 24 games for the Reds and scored one goal. He is also down the pecking order as Liverpool has strong players in those positions. Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez are all ahead of him in the order.

Nat Phillips to Newcastle United ?

Nat Phillips is expected to have a busy week with clubs trying to lure the young defender out of Anfield this January. Meanwhile, Liverpool have turned down Watford’s loan and buy option

Moreover, Seria A and Bundesliga clubs are also showing interest in the 24-year-old centre-back. While Premier League clubs, Burnley, West Ham United, and Newcastle United are still in pursuit to sign him this week.

Phillips expected to be on the high priority list for Newcastle after Sevilla demand more than 30 million pounds for defender Diego Carlos. Moreover, The Magpies are expecting to sign two centre backs this week.

The Northeast club Newcastle United are currently sitting at 18th position in the PL table. While 19th place Watford have a game in hand whereas, the 20th place Burnley have 3 games in hand. Nat Phillips could be the perfect player for The Magpies even with a huge wage deal from Newcastle could be challenged by top clubs from Italy and Germany. The decision is in the hands of the player and currently, the Merseyside giants are expecting bids and even they are yet to make a signing this January.
