Mohamed Salah departs for AFCON with a new look

Mohamed Salah has been in astonishing form this season and now he jets off for AFCON as the winger shows off his new haircut on Social Media.

The Egyptian King was on the scoresheet in last Sunday’s game against Chelsea as he marked his 150th Premier League goal.

So far in the league, Salah has 16 goals and nine assists to his name in 20 English Topflight games.

Liverpool are definitely going to miss the presence of Mohamed Salah. Moreover, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita also departed to represent Senegal and Guinea respectively for the AFCON competition.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s talisman was seen in good spirit as he jetted off for the competition with Aston Villa’s Trezeguet.

Salah was seen in a new haircut in the image, with his beard trimmed significantly. The Egyptian’s hair also looked more contained and shorter on the sides

The post on social media shows Salah in his new debonair look pointing at Trezeguet who appeared to be asleep.

Challenge for Klopp after Mohamed Salah departs for AFCON

Mo Salah is currently leading the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot. It has been another sensational season for the Egyptian with 23 goals in 26 games (all competitions) so far.

Now a bigger challenge lies ahead for Liverpool boss Klopp with Salah’s absence.

Who will step up for Liverpool in front of the goal with Salah’s absence?

Out of the 26 games, the winger has played, Liverpool have registered 69 goals in which Salah has registered 23 goals.

With now Salah and Mane gone, Klopp is left with Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, and Takumi Minamino as frontmen to lead the Reds’ attack. Moreover, midfielder Oxlade Chamberlain can also contribute more offensively.

All five Reds combined have scored 29 goals so far. With Diogo Jota the highest among all with 12 goals in 21 games (all competitions). Apart from the Portuguese, all other forwards have been in and out of the team.

Now, Klopp has to find the right balance without the Africans. The Covid-19 outbreak and injuries have already left the German with limited options and with the absence of the African trio, things might be getting more complicated.

Meanwhile, in AFCON Salah’s Egypt will open their campaign with a game against Nigeria. Mane’s Senegal will face Zimbabwe while Keita’s Guinea will open proceedings against Malawi.
