Michael Owen gave his prediction on tonight’s Champions League clash between Liverpool and Porto. The Reds will host their favourite UCL rivals at Anfield and they will be looking for yet another big goal margin win.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have a flawless record in the contest this season. They already have advanced to the next round with a 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at the beginning of the month.

Porto are currently second in Group B but are seven points behind the Reds after winning just one of their four matches.
Former Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid striker Michael Owen predicted tonight’s action for BetVictor. And the Englishman backed the Merseyside club to win the fixture.

Liverpool are through to the next round, guaranteed top spot. That said, Jurgen Klopp will no doubt want to build on the momentum from Saturday’s 4-0 win over Arsenal.

Owen was an important player in history of Reds, who scored 159 goals and 49 assists in over 297 appearances. The striker won two EFL league cups, one FA Cup, UEFA Europa league, UEFA Super Cup and 1 community shield. Infact, Owen had a great season back in 2001, where he clinched his hands on Ballon d’Or.

Michael Owen backs Liverpool for this year’s Champions League

Earlier, Owen implied on BT Sport that Liverpool were the favourites to win the Champions League this year. Apparently, only Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG and Bayern Munich are the tough sides for Jurgen Klopp.

Moreover, the former Red’s striker insisted that the English clubs will be more superior in Europe in coming years.

I think English football and the Premier League is so far ahead of everyone else at the moment and getting even stronger

In fact, Owen believes that the arrival of Ronaldo and Lukaku in the PL and Messi’s switch to Paris has made Italian and Spanish leagues much weaker. He also believes that the English league resides world class managers, which surely add spice into the competition.

Likewise, Liverpool have a better chance to lift the European title once again, as the Reds are looking dangerous than ever at the moment.
