Man United 0-5 Liverpool: Player Ratings
Man United welcomed Liverpool at Old Trafford, where the Reds thrashed the Red Devils 0-5.
Indeed a great day for Liverpool, a shambolic display from Ole’s Manchester in what could have been a tight clash.
The Reds demonstrated their enormous chasm in class, talent, and organization. A historic win thanks to a goal from Keita, Jota, and a hattrick from Mo salah.
Liverpool continue their unbeaten record, Jurgen Klopp witnessed his 200th win.
Man United vs Liverpool – Player Ratings
Goal Keeper and Defenders
Allison (GK) – 8/10
A decent game for the Brazillian, made some fine saves against Cristiano and Greenwood.
Trent Alexander Arnold (RB) – 8.5/10
An assist for Diogo Jota and covered other positions when the defence was sloppy. Made a few crosses inside the box for Firmino but not a scoring day for Firmino.
Ibrahima Konate (CB) – 8/10
Konate’s performance proved why Liverpool signed him. Made decent tackles and few interceptions. His chemistry with Van Dijk is good and can be counted on when needed.
Virgil Van Dijk (CB) – 8/10
Calm and composed as always. The Dutchman filled in greatly for Fabinho’s absence in midfield. His pressure on Rashford nearly scared him.
Andy Robertson (LB) – 8/10
Not proactive just like Trent, but deserves applause for taking a stand against Cristiano. Overall a fair performance from the Scottish.
Midfield
Jordan Henderson (CDM) – 8/10
Was able to fill in for Fabinho, and lead the midfield like a leader with 144 passes. His brilliant setup for Salah’s hattrick shows the dedication he displayed.
James Milner (CM) – N/A
Poor Milner made his third premier league start and was forced off in the 25th minute, unlucky with his hamstring.
Naby Keita (CM) – 8.5/10
An outstanding performance from the Guinean, brilliantly covered defence and attack in midfield, moreover his goal was the icing on the cake.
Forward
Mohamed Salah (RW) – 10/10
Indeed a man of the match performance from the Egyptian. It was another full performance, replete with retention of his incredible goal-scoring record.
Roberto Firmino (CF) – 8/10
Despite not directly contributing to a goal, the Brazilian was perhaps the most active of the three strikers in terms of passes and linkup play until he was substituted with 15 minutes remaining.
Diogo Jota (LW) – 8/10
A goal and an assist, a great day at the office for the Portuguese. Did a good job as a wider forward when the team broke, as seen by his goal, which he turned in at the far post.
Subsitutes
Curtis Jones (CM) – 8/10
An excellent performance from the youngster, filled in greatly for Milner.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) – N/A
Came in for half an hour and replaced Keita.
Sadio Mane (LW) – N/A
Replaced Jota in the final quarter.
Jurgen Klopp’s midfield wasn’t always the most solid looking on the break, but the defence was usually there to clean things up.
Konate’s insertion as a dedicated destroyer worked, and even when exposed in the breakout, the team had the form to reorganize.
The rather unconventional team pick was well warranted, and the game plan was flawlessly implemented.
