Liverpool have submitted their European squad for their Thursday night games in Europe, UEL, and the 36-year-old veteran keeper, Adrian has been dropped.
The Reds have started off the season on a great note, being unbeaten in the first 4 games of PL. But after the international break, things are sure to heat up with the Europa League starting soon.
This means the Reds would be playing more games as they look to reach the final stages of every competition they are in.
Hence, the final squad list for the same has been submitted by the Reds. And fans have noticed that their 3rd choice of veteran goalkeeper, Adrian has been left out by Jurgen Klopp.
As per the full listing shared on UEFA’s official website, it contains the other two backup goalkeepers, Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros.
However, it is hinted that the Spaniard would be called up if either of the three goalkeepers are either injured or ill.
Adrian, Liverpool third-choice, is not in the UEL squad
The 36-year-old has previously featured for the Reds when Alisson was injured back in 2020. It wasn’t a great show put on by the Spaniard as he let in 3 goals.
Thereby, Liverpool ended up losing to Atletico Madrid in the round of 16. That became an infamous night and Adrian has only these 5 games in the European competition under his belt.
Moreover, it’s strange that Jarell Quansah isn’t listed online while Bobby Clark is amongst the midfielders in the list. Also, due to being a homegrown player, the young defender should still be available if needed.
Looking at the group, there is no doubt that Liverpool are the strongest among the rest. Moreover, they are one of the favourites to even go all the way and win the competition.
The set of players involved as well are talented enough to carry the Reds all the way to glory. It remains to be seen how the Anfield side will fare in the Europa League this season.
