Liverpool are now looking to sign another midfielder. This time it is Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus. The 22-year-old is impressing everyone with his performance from the last season.

The Ghanaian has scored 10 goals and 2 assists in 21 appearances in all competitions. The midfielder also has 4 goals and 2 assists in the group stages of the Champions League. He is very flexible with his positions and can also play as a center forward and central attacking midfielder.

The Reds to make a move for Mohammed Kudus this January

Since the last couple of weeks, there have been rumors of Kudus trying to move out of Amsterdam. The 22-year-old signed a 5-year deal with Ajax back in July 2020 worth 9 Million Euros.

Liverpool are trying their best to sign the Ghanaian in January and the player also wants to move to a Premier League club. This was revealed by Fabrizio Romano while talking in an interview.

Liverpool are not the only club to go after Kudus

Alongside Liverpool, other Premier League clubs are also after the signatures of the 22-year-old. The clubs in the race are Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle. Jurgen Klopp is keeping his eyes on the player to make sure the Ajax midfielder doesn’t move anywhere else. However, last season the Ghanaian was also close to joining Everton.

Everton might go after the young wonder this season as well. The Ghanaian said this about his link to Everton:

“I was really close to joining Everton. I thought it was a good project for me and I felt I should try it. It wasn’t like this season was my first (at Ajax), it was my third.”

Meanwhile, Romano is unsure about the deal because the Reds’ main focus right now is Jude Bellingham.

Barcelona joins the race

The sporting director of Barcelona, Jordi Cruyff, recently said that they also have their eyes on the Ajax star. The director praised the player’s performance in Holland. Furthermore, Cruyff even added the player is in talks everywhere and is someone about whom teams discuss a lot.

Kudus scored two goals for Ghana in the World Cup. The player is having a wonderful season with Ajax as well. Seems like the midfielder has impressed a lot of big clubs in Europe. We will have to wait and watch until the end of this January to locate his next destination.
