The Reds will see the return of Darwin Nunez. It brings an addition to the lineup options for Liverpool when they lock horns with Milan today.

Nunez set to make a return in the starting lineup for Liverpool against AC Milan

Darwin Nunez, who reunited with his teammates earlier this week, is in the running to play for Liverpool when they face AC Milan in a friendly on Friday. The Reds are aware that they have no chance of winning the Dubai Super Cup after losing to Lyon last Sunday and Arsenal being named the tournament’s victor on Tuesday.

Arsenal already have eight points after defeating Lyon and AC Milan in regulation and penalties respectively, whereas Milan and Liverpool can now only finish with a maximum of four points.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s team will learn more from Friday’s game in preparation for their return to competitive play the following week.

The Reds squad vs Milan:

Darwin Nunez, who joined the team earlier this week, should play. Curtis Jones has not yet participated in a complete training session in Dubai. After a near-injury against Lyon, Harvey Elliott appears to be in good shape. Calvin Ramsay might not play after skipping training on Wednesday. Layton Stewart’s dead leg prevented him from being seen in training this week. The remaining players who won’t be involved in today’s action are Marcelo Pitaluga, Arthur, Kaide Gordon, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz.

Goalkeepers

Kelleher, Adrian, Davies, and Mrozek.

Defenders

Gomez, Matip, Phillips, Quansah, Robertson, Tsimikas, Ramsay, and Chambers.

Midfielders

Thiago, Elliott, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Keita, Bajcetic, Cain, and Corness.

Forwards

Salah, Firmino, Carvalho, Clark, Doak, Frauendorf, and Nunez.

Predicted XI:

Kelleher, Milner, Matip, Gomez, Robertson, Thiago, Keita, Carvalho, Salah, Nunez, Firmino

With less than a week until the Carabao Cup match against Man City, don’t be shocked if Klopp decides to give his older players more playing time against Milan and fewer opportunities for the kids. The German had already utilized the majority of his team on Sunday.
