Reports had emerged yesterday that PSV Eindhoven had sent a formal bid to sign Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool last week.
Van den Berg is attracting a lot of interest from other clubs and if Liverpool’s €20m value is met there are chances he’ll leave Liverpool.
Van Den Berg was on loan at Mainz for the last two seasons. According to WhoScored Van den Berg was the highest-rated centre-back in the Bundesliga last season with a rating of 7.04.
PSV Eindhovan Interested To Sign Sepp Van Den Berg
According to Fabrizio Romano:
“Understand PSV Eindhoven have sent formal bid to Liverpool for Sepp van den Berg at the end of last week, worth around €10m.
Liverpool have immediately rejected the proposal.”
Liverpool will consider selling Van den Berg only if the €20m valuation is met. PSV believe that the valuation is high.
There is also interest from Hoffenheim, Mainz and Stuttgart for Van Den Berg. Liverpool will only sell for €20m.
Sepp speaking to Sky Sports after the Real Betis game:
“It’s one of the biggest if not the biggest club in the world so if it’s here it’s my dream”
Van den Berg speaking to Sky Sports might have given the indication that he wants to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool.
With the departure of Joe Matip Liverpool are in need of a defender. It is unclear whether Liverpool will sign a new defender or will continue with Van den Berg.
