Calafiori Transfer Attempts Denied By Liverpool
Sources close to the club have played down the club’s interest in Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori despite their connections to each player.
Following an outstanding campaign at Euro 2024 Calafiori has attracted interest from several European teams including Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Leading teams have taken notice of his performances but Liverpool appear to have other priorities. Prioritized less on their list of targets is Piero Hincapie who was connected to Liverpool.
In spite of the fact that Hincapie is in high demand due to his steady performances for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, the Reds are still looking at other defensive alternatives.
These options include Willian Pacho of Eintracht Frankfurt, Antonio Silva of Benfica and Goncalo Inacio of Sporting all three have demonstrated a great deal of promise and align with Liverpool’s long-term goals.

The only defender Liverpool appears to be seriously pursuing is Leny Yoro from Lille.

“My understanding is that Liverpool are not actively in the race for him at this stage, we’ve heard links with several Premier League clubs, but Liverpool sources downplay the links that are being made between Calafiori and them, so it appears that they have other targets that they are working on.
That’s the same also for Piero Hincapie as well, who is constantly being linked with Liverpool. But again, there’s denials from sources close to Liverpool that he’s a target they’re looking to pursue, either.”
Liverpool are playing their card very cautiously in the summer transfer window to utilize the most.
