After leaving Liverpool and performing well in the Saudi league club Al-Ahli, Roberto Firmino is leaving them too to become a pastor and reflect on his career highlighting his spiritual journey.
A Career Shift For Former Liverpool Striker Roberto Firmino
The former striker for Liverpool Roberto Firmino has started a new chapter in his personal and professional life.
Firmino made a surprising career change in 2023 after leaving Liverpool and signing with Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League where he scored nine goals in his debut campaign.
Along with his spouse Larissa Pereira, he started an evangelical church in Maceio Brazil. He has since accepted the role of pastor freely sharing his faith with the locals.
The Brazilian Striker
Firmino became a key player for Liverpool over his eight-year stay making 362 appearances and dishing out 75 assists.
He said at the time of his baptism,
“Jesus is love, there is no explanation. Just believe in him, just believe and feel the Holy Spirit,”
He was instrumental in Liverpool’s triumph taking home major awards like the Premier League and Champions League.
Firmino however stated in his book Si Senor: My Liverpool Years that he felt it was time for a new challenge outside of Liverpool due to a change in perspective and a conversation with a pastor in Maceio.
New Role For Roberto Firmino Liverpool Hero
Firmino has had a slower start at Al-Ahli but he is still dedicated to his spiritual path and his new role in the Middle East.
His exit from Liverpool signified the end of an era but also the start of a new one as he still has an influence off the field.
Fans will never forget his presence on and off the pitch, Bobby is a player that Anfield always loves.
