Liverpool squad heads to the US for a pre-season tour, but it is missing key players. Familiar faces are expected to be back in England as Slot prepares for the new Premier League season.
Arne Slot’s First Game
Arne Slot’s tenure at Liverpool began with a 1-0 defeat to Preston North End in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the AXA Training Centre.
Despite this, the team is gearing up for their pre-season tour in the United States, where they will face Real Betis, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
The squad will be without several key players who are on their post-tournament break, including those who competed in the European Championships and Copa America.
However, Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson, and Vitezslav Jaros have already returned to training, and Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota might join the team later in the tour.
US Tour
The tour will see Nat Phillips and Sepp van den Berg, who have expressed the desire to leave, making the trip to the US.
Additionally, several younger players will participate before returning to the Academy sides.
With no major transfers expected in the next two weeks, Liverpool’s squad will have a familiar look upon their return to England.
The team will reunite fully in the week leading up to their final pre-season friendly against Sevilla at Anfield on August 11.
Liverpool Squad For Pre Season
The probable first-team squad after the US tour includes goalkeepers Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher, and others, defenders like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, midfielders such as Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, and forwards including Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
Slot’s focus during the tour will be on integrating these players and preparing for the new Premier League campaign, which starts on August 17 against Ipswich Town.
