Liverpool ready to sell Mohamed Salah for £60m in this years transfer window

According to reports, Liverpool FC is willing to sell Mohamed Salah for a fee of £60m. The Egyptian’s contract with the Reds runs through to 2023. But He has not agreed to a new contract yet.

Mohamed Salah is among the best players on the planet.

The Egyptian king has run riots since joining the Merseyside giants from AS Roma in 2017.

He has won 3 out of 5 EPL golden boots in that period.

Salah has been Liverpool’s main man and has helped the club win many major honours including the Premier League and the Champions League.

Salah won the last season’s EPL Golden boot and Playmaker award with 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 Premier League games. And he also amassed a total of 31 goals and 16 assists in 51 appearances across all competition (Stats via whoscored.com).

According to reports, Liverpool is willing to let Mohamed Salah to leave for £60 million during the current transfer period.

Months of contract renewal talks between the 30-year-old and the Reds have gone nowhere. And conversations between the two parties have not yet produced a successful outcome.

Salah is now scheduled to become a free agent in a year. And if new terms cannot be reached, he will be free to leave for nothing.

Salah declared that he would stay at Anfield for the 2022–23 season before to the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.

Salah might still leave this summer. As Liverpool are desperate to keep him from leaving on a free transfer at the end of the upcoming campaign.

Although the Reds’ owners FSG won’t permit Salah to join a direct Premier League competitor. The Sun reports that Liverpool are willing to consider offers of £60 million for the PFA Player of the Year.

The alleged weekly salary of the former Chelsea and Roma player on Merseyside is around £240,000. And he is rumoured to be holding out for a massive £400k per week contract before agreeing to new terms.

Salah has been linked with a departure ever since he refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona. And Liverpool is unwilling to bow to his demands because of their wage structure.

Due to their financial issues, the Catalans are most certainly out of the running to sign Salah this summer. Although Real Madrid is still thought to be closely monitoring the situation.

Other Departures

Divock Origi, whose contract was up in 2023, left Liverpool as a free agent. And he is expected to join AC Milan. While Sadio Mane, whose contract was also up in 2023, left in a £35 million move for Bayern Munich.

Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho, who will battle with players like Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, and Harvey Elliott for starts next season, have been added to Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options.

The out-of-style Though Takumi Minamino is largely expected to go, Monaco is thought to have reached an agreement on a £15.5 million deal to recruit the 27-year-old player before the 2022–23 season.

Given that the Reds are apparently not interested in signing Christian Pulisic to replace Sadio Mane, Nunez, Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay could be the only summer additions made by Liverpool during this transfer window.
