After the deal is final and Sadio Mane is taking an exit from Liverpool, his former boss Jurgen Klopp breaks the silence about the Senegal’s departure.

After playing under Jurgen Klopp for 6 years and playing more than 260 games for Liverpool, Sadio Mane has now said his goodbyes to Liverpool. Moreover, the 30-year-old has scored more than 100 goals for the Reds which makes him Liverpool’s 14th top goalscorer in their history.

The Sadio Mane transfer saga

The Senegalese international has always been a key player for the Reds and was one of the favourites of Jurgen Klopp, who himself is at Anfield for 7 years. After joining Liverpool, the German instantly brought Mane to Anfield.

Now, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have agreed on a deal of 35 million pounds in which Sadio Mane will play for the German giants until 2025. Moreover, even the medical has been completed now and Mane is all set to play for the Bundesliga club.

While having a conversation with Liverpoolfc, Klopp broke the silence on this topic for the first time since the talks have been going on.

It’s a big moment. There is no point in anyone trying to pretend otherwise. One of Liverpool’s greatest ever players is leaving and we must acknowledge how significant this is.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc

He leaves with our gratitude and our love. He leaves with his status among the greats guaranteed. And, yes, he leaves in a moment where he is one of the best players in world football.

But we must not dwell on what we now lose, instead celebrate what we were privileged to have. The goals he scored, the trophies he won; a legend, for sure, but also a modern-day Liverpool icon.

The genuine message by Jurgen Klopp shows how important he was for the club and his contributions in the past few years have been massive for the Merseyside club.

Finally, Liverpool will initially get 27.5 million pounds and then the Reds will receive another 7.5 million pounds in the add-ons depending upon the terms the parties have agreed upon.
