Lionel Messi established himself as the GOAT after Argentina’s historic win against France in the Qatar World Cup final.

Despite many grates having won this prestigious award for their country Leo Messi has done something which makes him one of the Greatest of all generations.

Leo the GOAT Messi

He has been in sublime form throughout this tournament. The Argentine no. 10 has been awarded as the man of the match in every knockout game played by Argentina in this tournament. The PSG forward is the only player who won the best player of the tournament twice in two different WC campaigns.

Emi Martinez has won the best goalkeeper award and Liverpool transfer target Enzo Fernandez won the best young player of the tournament.

This was Argentina’s second World Cup final out of the last 3 World Cups. They reached the final in 2014 but lost 0-1 in extra time against Germany. The 35-year-old won the last major trophy which was missing from his most decorated trophy cabinet.

Konate gave his all

This La Albiceleste’s win came at the expense of Ibrahima Konate, a late substitute who almost forced a winner for France in stoppage time.

Many players and ex-players praised Messi for his tremendous performance. Luiz Diaz took on Instagram to congratulate the little genius.

“All is said”

The Colombian wrote.

“Football owed you”

The Red’s 23 was one of those who applauded Messi in his post on Instagram alongside his teammate Virgil van Dijk.

Other than them Kostas Tsimikas, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Arthur, Calvin Ramsay, Stefan Bajcetic, and Daniel Agger also liked the message, while a host of youngsters congratulated Leo on their stories.

Many Liverpool legends took to social media to praise Messi. Jamie Carragher ranked him above Diego Maradona, Pele, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zidane. Ben Doak & Paul Glatzel labeled him as the

“greatest of all time”.

Which was never a doubt but was just a matter of time.
