Liverpool Player Ratings vs Leicester City

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Allison Becker (GK) – 7/10

While he only had to make one save, the Brazilian had the ball more on his feet than in his hands. The keeper was the most accurate passer of the ball with 94% pass accuracy.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 7.5/10

Playing his 150-th game for the club, the 23-year old had a decent game. He created the most chances in the game(4) and was a constant threat on the right-hand side. He also had four key passes and was only disposed of the ball once.

Joel Matip (CB) – 7/10

Started the game looking poor, gave Leicester space to attack. However, completed the game strong. Not only did he win 2 tackles, 2 aerial duels and 3 interceptions, but also got a handy assist.

Virgil Van Dijk (CB) – 8/10

A brilliant game from the towering centre-half. The 30-year-old kept Daka under the wraps the whole night and had seven recoveries. He was also involved in the first goal.

Andrew Robertson (LB) – 8/10

Another great game from the in-form Scot. The 27-year-old played 2 key passes, completed 2 dribbles and connected quite well with the new signing.

Midfielders

Thiago (CM) – 8/10

In his first game back, the Spaniard showed Liverpool what they were missing. Not only did he win the most tackles in the match(3), but also won the most duels in 12. He also played 5 accurate long balls and was dispossessed just once.

Fabinho (CM) – 8/10

Another good performance from the Brazilian. He formed a strong partnership with Thiago, providing a good balance to the midfield. He amassed a mammoth 11 recoveries and he was dribbled past only once.

Curtis Jones (CM) – 6.5/10

With a fully fit midfield, Klopp still chose to play Jones over Keita and Harvey Elliott. The 21-year-old did not have the greatest of games as he had problems recycling possession. Taken off in the 59th minute for Elliott.

Forwards

Luis Diaz (LW)- 8/10

The 25-year-old had a great debut, which promoted Klopp to say that it was “one of the best first games” he has ever seen. He completed the most dribbles in the match(5), had four shots, 91% passing accuracy and five recoveries. A great game for the Colombian.

Roberto Firmino (ST) – 6/10

The Brazilian was off with his passing and like Jones had a problem recycling the ball. Not the greatest of games for Firmino was taken off for Salah in the 60th minute.

Diogo Jota (RW) – 9/10 (Man of the Match)

Even though the 25-year-old had the least number of touches in the match(42), he still played a great game. He was in the right place at the right time, scoring his 16th and 17th goals of the season. He also played 2 key passes and was not disposed of the ball even once.

Substitutes

Harvey Elliott (CM) – 6/10

Was caught off guard a couple of times, but linked up well on the right-hand side and had a good cameo.

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 7/10

Had a fantastic first appearance back from the AFCON. Replaced Firmino in the 60th minute and could have scored three times in quick succession. Great cameo

Takumi Minamino (LW) -N/A

Brief Cameo in the 90th minute.
