Player Ratings Liverpool vs Norwich

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Alisson Becker (GK) – 7/10

Had poor ball distribution in some instances during the first half. Had no chance with the Lukas Rupp strike from long-range, did however make a good stop to deny Jonathan Rowe.

James Milner (RB) – 8/10

The vice-captain had a brilliant game on the right-hand side of the defence. Had an 87% passing rate, played one key pass, won 2 aerial duels and had seven recoveries. He was also really good with the ball.

Ibrahima Konate (CB) – 7.5/10

The tall Frenchman also had a really good game. He used the ball well and kept Norwich’s attackers under wraps. Played one key pass, had 3 interceptions and 8 recoveries. He also won all of his duels.

Joe Gomez (CB) – 6.5/10

Could have done a lot more during Norwich’s goal, but other than that had a good game. Covered his area well and also had some vital challenges in the game. Finished with a 91% passing rate.

Kostas Tsimikas (LB) – 7/10

Had a decent game despite losing the most duels on the pitch (9). Made some delightful runs, while attempting a mammoth eleven crosses. One of which, led to the opener.

Midfielders

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) – 6/10

Not his best performance, to say the least. Did show a willingness to work hard, but did not have an end product to show for it. Did hit the woodwork with a shot though.

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 7/10

The captain had a very good first half. He was the most accurate passer on the pitch (95% passing rate). He also had some aggressive tackles and helped Liverpool press the opponent well. Replaced in the 60th minute.

Curtis Jones (CM) – 7.5/10

Like the skipper, Jones also had a great first half. He was very effective with the ball. Not only did he have a lot of tricks but also played some great through balls and had some effective one-two. Even clipped the woodwork with one shot.

Forwards

Takumi Minamino (RW) – 8.5/10 (Man of the Match)

The hero of many of Liverpool’s cup games turned up again. Scored two goals with very effectively played shots that gave the keeper no chance. Had one key pass too. Also helped link up the play between the midfield and the attack.

Divock Origi (ST) – 6.5/10

Despite assisting one of Minamino’s goals, the striker was barely involved. However, when he was involved, he did play some good combinations and had some decent movements behind the defence.

Diogo Jota (LW) – 6.5/10

Still getting back to full fitness, the lack of it showed in Jota’s game. He was industrious and had some good off the ball movement. Also had some good one-on-one play.

Substitutes

Harvey Elliott (CM) – 7/10

Came on at half-time and had some good touches. Even took a shot on target.

Tyler Morton (CM) – 6/10

Replaced Henderson and had a tidy game.

Luis Diaz (LW) – 7/10

Came in and almost scored a goal. A few cut in and hit moments from the new signing.

Sadio Mane (ST) – N/A

Replaced Origi in the 84th minute, did not have enough time to make an impact.
