In order to hunt Man City at the top of the Premier League, the Reds will take a crucial step with an important matchup on the cards on Saturday reading as Liverpool vs West Ham.

Liverpool have been quite busy recently for Cup competition games. The Reds tasted success in the EFL Cup final at Wembley. Also proceeded to the FA Cup quarterfinal after winning against Norwich.

And now Klopp’s fiery Reds will shift focus on Premier League to take on David Moyes’s West Ham United.

Jurgen Klopp’s men had a comfortable victory in the midweek and look motivated to take down the Hammers on Saturday. Previously, when these two sides met the Reds faced a narrow defeat which marked Liverpool’s first defeat of the season.

Liverpool are currently in crazy “quadruple” talks, the history suggests no English team has tasted quadruple success. But certainly, Liverpool fans are expecting Klopp’s men to achieve the greatest success in the history of football.

David Moyes is doing a fantastic job at West Ham having qualified the Hammers to Europa League qualification last season. The Hammers are now due to face Sevilla in the round of 16 of the competition this month.

And now West Ham does want to take the next step forward and reach the Champions League football. A surprise draw or victory at Anfield would see the Hammers move back into the final Champions League spot before Man United and Arsenal return to action on Sunday.

But West Ham had issues away from home in Premier League, as they have just collected two wins from the last eight. Moreover, the Reds have won each of the last four meetings between the sides at Anfield, scoring at least two goals each time.

Both Roberto Firmino and Thiago Alcantara are expected to sit out the game for their respective injury issues.

The Brazilian is out for his muscular problem sustained after Inter Milan game last month. Meanwhile, the Spaniard is expected to be back for the Champions League tie next week.

Curtis Jones is a doubt for the game after he sustained a twinge in his thigh during the FA Cup victory over Norwich.

Captain Jordan Henderson should be on the bench having played 60 minutes in the midweek after starting in the EFL Cup final. Naby Keita should be ready for the starting call-up in the midfield.
