Liverpool midfielder confirms return after a mutual agreement for loan cancellation

The 19-year-old Max Woltman returns back to Liverpool after a frustrating loan cancellation.

The English forward completed his switch to League Two side Doncaster at the end of the summer transfer window. But his days in Yorkshire were not as good as he expected them to be.

Why Liverpool terminated the loan deal of Woltman?

The current Red forward struggled to maintain his starting position in the Football League Two side. Thus, his 11 outings came off the bench out of 13 games he played.

The teenager failed to register any goal or assist in the 13 matches he has played for Doncaster. After a few disappointing months in the League Two side, both clubs mutually agreed to terminate his loan agreement.

Thereafter, the teenager confirmed his exit in a post on Instagram, saying

“Thank you to the players, fans, and staff at Doncaster for making me feel so welcome from the beginning.”

“Best of luck for the rest of the season”

he added.

Other loan deals

Along with the 19-year-old, Billy Koumetio also returned to Liverpool.

The return of these two would allow other youngsters to gain experience on a loan spell.

Meanwhile, Mateusz Musialowski and Layton Stewart are among those who attract interest from the other clubs. Other than these two, James Norris is also expected to depart in the winter transfer window.

Moreover, the Reds are also expected to recall Polish goalkeeper Jakub Ojryzski from Radomiak Radom.

Woltman is now expected to fill in with the under-21 squad.

All end for Max?

Klopp loves to use young players in his team. Moreover, he is the one who brought Trent Alexander-Arnold back in 2016. Trent made his senior debut at just the age of 18. Since then he is irreplaceable in the Right back area.

Other than Trent the German also introduces another teenager back in September 2018 named Harvey Elliot at the age of 15 in an EFL Cup fixture against Fulham.

Thus, the Reds manager doesn’t see age as a boundary. This could be a very good opportunity for Max to restart his carrier where he dreams to play in the future.
