Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp met with the representative of Fiorentina midfielder and Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat for a potential move to Anfield.

Klopp has an eye on Sofyan Amrabat

The Reds are looking to strengthen their midfield and Amrabat could act as the backbone in the middle of the park. The Moroccan international had an exceptional WC campaign at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Sofyan could be open to leaving as he desires to play at the biggest European stage which is the Champions League. Liverpool are now looking to capitalize on this moment before any other club.

However, the Merseyside giant’s attempt to sign the 26-year-old can be challenged by the Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

According to Foot Mercato, the player has already spoken of his desire to play for the Spanish club and their manager Diego Simeone.

Amrabat on his feelings

Amrabat expressed his feeling to Marca

“It is a great honour to be associated with these sorts of club. Right now I am happy at Fiorentina. I have a lot of respect for my club,it’s a great team. I have a great coach and a wonderful relationship with the owner Rocco Commisso, who brought me to Fiorentina, and with Joe Barone and Daniele Prade. I have a lot of respect for them and for the club.”

The Moroccan also said about Simeone’s style of play that

“I don’t like to talk about others. But yes, what Simeone does, what he has achieved…he has coached Atletico Madrid for many years. I like his style of play. He has won a lot and I have a lot of respect for him. The players on his team are physically strong and aggressive. I like to play that way.”

Liverpool are in a crisis. They are looking for a quality midfielder to create dominance in the middle of the turf. However, it looks like they are slowly and steadily losing their grip on one of their targets.

While Jude Bellingham, Enzo Fernandez, and Mathus Nunes are some of the other names frequently linked with the Reds.
