After the unfortunate injury of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool might call back young right-back Calvin Ramsay for the rest of the season.
In the midweek clash against Fulham last night, the Anfield giants again produced one of their awe-inspiring comebacks, reigning over Fulham 2-1. The whole team came together to snatch the victory from the jaws of defeat.
With many key players missing, manager Jurgen Klopp put forward a decent-looking side. Although they conceded a goal earlier in the match, going down 1-0 at the half-time, the second-half goals from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo secured the victory.
In the absence of vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Bradley fulfilled his responsibility quite well.
Liverpool might call back Calvin Ramsay
Trent Alexander-Arnold recently suffered a knee ligament injury which will expectedly keep him out for three weeks. To fill out the gap in the right-back position, the club will have to take measures immediately.
According to a new report via This is Anfield, LFC are in talks with Preston North End to bring back Calvin Ramsay. The young fullback moved to the Championship side in summer 2023 but managed to get only 2 appearances for them, accumulating only 131 minutes of playtime (stats via Transfermarkt).
Most of his tenure at Deepdale came to no fruition as he was out of action due to his knee surgery. As the Merseysiders have already called back many of the loaned out players, it would make sense to bring Ramsay back.
After the solid performance against Fulham on Wednesday night, Conor Bradley has earned the trust of Klopp to be a good replacement for the vice-captain. Moreover, if Ramsay comes back, he will be in contention for getting some playtime to rest the Irishman.
Those chances would most definitely be the best opportunities for the young Scott to get in action and prove his worth.
