LFC youth academy graduate Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton has expressed his desire to break into the Reds senior team next season once he returns from Hull City.
The Merseysiders have been one of the top clubs in England in terms of scouting and nurturing young talents. The AXA Youth Academy is one of the best academies in the UK.
The Reds have also been great at dealing with the youngsters’ development by giving them playtime opportunities with loan moves.
And one of the loanees from the Anfield side is Tyler Morton who moved to Hull City this summer on a season-long loan deal.
Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton on playing for the Reds
The 21-year-old has spoken about his eagerness to play again in the Reds outfit. In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Morton said,
“I’m happy that Liverpool have got that team because I’m a Liverpool supporter as well.
They’re a fantastic team and I’m excited to get back there. Yeah, I hope so [on if playing for England’s U-21s could help him break into Liverpool’s first team].
That’s the long run. I’m kind of a realistic type of person and I think about the now [at Hull]. But that would be lovely and is where I want to be.”
The England U-21 international is a right-footed defensive-midfielder who debuted in the senior Reds outfit in September 2021in an EFL Cup match against Norwich City. He went on to make 9 appearances for LFC across all competitions in the 2021-22 season.
In the 2022-23 season, he played for Championship side Blackburn Rovers as a loan player making 42 appearances for them.
This season, playing for Hull City, he has made 10 appearances so far while assisting twice. He averages 0.9 tackles and 0.5 interceptions with a pass completion rate of 90.6% (stats via WhoScored).
Morton has already developed so much and Jurgen Klopp also has a liking for him. As Thiago might leave Liverpool this coming summer, the English midfielder can hopefully fill in the spot.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
