Liverpool FC are in talks to sign wonderkid Ligue 1 midfielder Khephren Thuram.

The Reds are negotiating with a 21-year-old midfielder from Ligue 1 to reinforce their roster.

According to a report from Football Transfers, Jurgen Klopp is interested in Khephren Thuram. He is the brother of Borussia Monchengladbach player Marcus and the son of French icon Lilian.

The Reds are still hunting for new blood in the midfield and have recently been linked with several players. It is despite having a whopping 11 players on their roster who can play in that position.

The Reds’ centre-field options include Fabinho, Bajcetic, Curtis Jones, Keita, Thiago, Arthur, Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Elliott, and Carvalho.

Liverpool hoping to sign Khephren Thuram

Despite this, Klopp has struggled in the midfield in recent months. And the Merseysiders have only brought in one permanent midfielder in the past four years who had prior midfield experience.

Thuram has a Fabinho-like presence and may be the Brazilian’s ideal long-term defensive midfield replacement. The Nice star can win aerial duels and second balls. Moreover, he also possesses the passing ability to please Klopp.

Khephren Thuram has also played center-back early in his career. This is similar to how Fabinho did for the Reds in the past.

Liverpool are also looking to sign other midfielders. According to Liverpool Echo and ESPN, Yunus Musah is on Liverpool and Inter Milan’s radar.

Transfermarkt values Thuram at €25 million.

Moises Caicedo might be one of two Brighton midfielders moving to Merseyside. The Reds will likely compete with three other European teams for Alexis MacAllister. The midfielder was key to Argentina winning the 2022 World Cup.

Furthermore, Liverpool is also looking to sign Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes. Moreover, they may compete with Tottenham for the services of Sofyan Amrabat. He shone for Morocco at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
