Liverpool have been in talks to sign the Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, this month but then the deal completely collapsed.

As per the exclusive interview given by EOTK as per Anas Bakhkhar, the African international’s agent thought the English giants are not serious enough for his client and that was the reason why they drifted apart.

Sofyan Amrabat’s agent on Liverpool

According to the Foot Mercato journalist

“Just to remind everyone, there was a positive meeting during the World Cup between Amrabat’s entourage and Liverpool but unfortunately, his agent thought that Liverpool were linked with lot of midfielders during this transfer window-like Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez and Liverpool were having discussions with Borussia Dortmund and Benfica.”

“So it was difficult for Amrabat’s agent to see if he would be an undeniable starter under Jurgen Klopp, it was difficult situation and they decided to abandon negotiations with Liverpool”

Fiorentina have been demanding a fee of £39.5M for the player breaker, whose current deal with the Viola will expire in 2024.

The Reds are in a midfield crisis and signing a player alone won’t solve the problems. They need multiple options in the middle of the park to provide options for their forward line.

Red’s midfield vulnerability

The Merseyside giant’s current defensive midfielder Fabinho is having the worst season in Reds shirt. The Brazilian played 18 matches in the PL where he has zero goals and assists for the Merseyside giants. The 29-year-old has 0.3 percent expected XG. Last year he had an XG of 4.0.

Other than Fabinho Thiago and Henderson are also having a terrible season.

The Spaniard is very much injury prone. This season he only played 13 matches in the Premier League with zero goals and zero assists.

On the other hand, the LFC captain Jordan Henderson has played 16 matches so far and has also had zero contributions in goals and assists.

The Reds desperately need a new signing in the middle of the park in order to at least compete for the 4th spot.
