Liverpool did not have a busy transfer window as compared to the rivals this year. But believing in the squad it has and not extensively spending, the Reds tied up some key players by offering them a new deal. However, Liverpool are ready to spend big next summer and thus Luis Diaz has joined the wishlist.

Meanwhile, Diaz has scored 5 goals and registered 1 assist to his name so far in the Primeira Liga. Moreover, Porto has not lost a game in their domestic league and Diaz has become a key player to their success.

The Colombian interest was one of the targets for Rafael Benitez of Everton in the summer transfer window. Due to a revised price from Porto, The Toffees backed out of the race to sign Diaz.

As reported in the Independent, La Liga giant Barcelona, who were struggling this season are also behind his signatures. But now Liverpool have also joined the race. Jurgen Klopp wants to make him join the attacking force for the club.

How will Diaz fit in the current Liverpool squad?

Currently, the attacking options available with the Reds are Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino, and Divock Origi.

However, with Sadio Mane’s contract expiring next summer and assuming that Origi would leave, Liverpool would like to add on some attacking options to their squad. Thus, Diaz could prove to be a good option for Klopp.

Meanwhile, Liverpool boss would have had a closer look on the performance of Diaz while the Reds beat Porto by 5-1. Moreover, the 24-year-old looked quite impressive in the fixture against the Reds.

However, the Colombian international will be under a contract with the Portuguese side until 2024. Thus, it will be interesting to how much are Liverpool looking to spend for bringing Diaz to Anfield.
