Liverpool found their FA Cup Quarterfinals opponents

The draw for the next round of FA Cup has been made and Liverpool will face Championship opposition.

After an eventful fourth round of FA Cup, the draw for the next round of FA Cup was made. Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City all avoid each other. While City face Premier League opposition in Southampton, Everton face Crystal Palace. Chelsea have drawn the giant killers in Middlesborough.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will face Nottingham Forest in the quarterfinal round of the FA Cup.

The Championship side is currently sitting at 9th place in the League table. However, Nottm Forest recently knocked out Huddersfield, who are clinging on the 2nd spot in the domestic league. Thus, Liverpool can not take their opponents for granted as they can possess enough capabilities to pull out an upset.

Liverpool FA cup and beyond

The Reds are favorites to advance to the next round. So are Manchester City and Chelsea. Therefore, the Reds can face either of these European giants.

However, The Boro have already defeated Tottenham and Manchester United in the previous rounds, they might be looking to scalp another ‘Big 6’. Additionally, Liverpool can even face Everton in a Merseyside Derby. That would really be a salivating prospect. Whatever be the case, Liverpool are the firm favourites to advance, given their sterling form.

The Reds are also finding new heroes every week. Takumi Minamino being the most recent one to pick up form. The Japanese international scored a brace, which carried Liverpool to victory against Norwich at Anfield.

Which goes to show the bench strength of Liverpool this season. Truly, Liverpool are the team to beat. With this form, Liverpool can skin teams and awe onlookers. Given the form of Liverpool’s key players and an electric Anfield, Liverpool might even be able to pull of something historic.

Now we need to speak quietly, else the RNG gods hear us; Liverpool might win the quadruple. We aren’t the first ones to suggest such a notion, and we won’t be the last. The last time such expectations were thrown around, Liverpool were knocked out of all cup competitions and lost 3-0 to Watford of all teams.

Let’s just hope Klopp and his merry men pull it off.
