Six times European champions Liverpool will face SL Benfica in the Champions League quarterfinal after the draw conducted by UEFA.

The Reds have beaten Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate to qualify for the quarterfinals of the competition. The second leg tie against the Nerrazurri was far from straightforward. Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez gave Inter the hope to turn around the tie.

But Klopp’s men’s empathic 2-0 victory at San Siro in the first leg was enough for the Reds’ progress.

Earlier in the competition, Liverpool qualified to the Knock out stage with a 100% record in the group stage. The Merseyside giants won all of their six group stage games beating the likes of Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, and AC Milan in the process.

Liverpool have the accompany of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Villareal, and Chelsea into the last eight of the competition.

And now the draw has taken place, Liverpool now faces Benfica in the last eight stage of the Champions League competition.

The Liga Portugal side Benfica impressed very much on this season’s European stage. Nelson Verissimo’s side have overcome Barcelona’s side to qualify for the knockout stage from Group E alongside Bayern Munich.

The Eagles also continued their good run in the Round of 16 fixture against Ajax. The Portuguese side defeated Eredivisie Champions Ajax side 3-2 on aggregate.
