Liverpool will use the FIFA club world cup to scout Brazilian player Danilo. The youngster is looked at as Fabhino’s perfect replacement.

Liverpool are looking to fill the lack of depth in their midfield by signing another midfielder. Liverpool have been linked with a number of midfielders in the recent past including Toni Kroos and Kalvin Phillips.

With James Milner looking set to leave the club in the summer, Liverpool are in dire need of another midfielder. They also have not found a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum yet.

Danilo: Perfect deputy to Fabhino?

20-year-old Danilo on the other hand can be the ideal candidate to fill the gap in depth. The Brazilian can act as Fabhino’s deputy in the holding midfield position.

However, signing the youngster will not be easy for Liverpool as a number of clubs are looking to sign him. This list includes clubs like fellow premier league giants Arsenal.

Not only is Danilo an intelligent player, but is also very energetic and he has a great touch. He is a very aggressive player off the ball and pressing is one of his strongest attributes.

He is very good at recycling possession and has great positioning without the ball. The youngster is also a very good dribbler. According to Sofa Score, the 20-year-old on average completes 43% of his dribbles, very close to Fabhino’s 53%.

While he is far from being a finished product, he is still a great deputy for Fabhino. He can be like the Tsikimas signing, where the FSG sign a deputy below his prime to add competition and depth.

He also fits the FSG model of players just below their prime. The youngster can develop into the absolute best version of himself at Liverpool.

He also won’t find it hard to adjust at the club with fellow Brazilians Roberto Firmino, Fabhino, Allison and Marcelo Pitaluga. Liverpool also have legendary Brazilian goalkeeper Claudio Taffarel as one of their goalkeeping coaches.

The youngster is valued at around 20 million pounds, which is not a lot by today’s standards.

Do you think Danilo will be a good signing for Liverpool? Should they splash the money on a 20-year-old who is yet to prove himself at the top?
