Liverpool have already made their second bid for Romeo Lavia and now they are eyeing Fluminese midfielder Andre Trindade.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Belgian midfielder Lavia is still being delayed as their first bid got rejected by Southampton.
The Merseysiders have submitted their second official offer as they want to sign him before the season starts. Also, Chelsea are entering the race to sign him.
Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy taking it to her Twitter informed that the improved bid is closer to Southampton’s asking price of £50M but still below an initial £40M without add-ons.
However, has hinted that Liverpool are also exploring deals for alternatives – including Fluminense’s Andre.
Andre rumours have surfaced in recent times but this is the first time that a reliable journalist has mentioned his name.
Liverpool to sign Fluminese midfielder Andre Trindade?
Two of the most linked clubs with the Brazilian midfielder have been English side Fulham and Portuguese side Sporting CP.
An earlier report from the Portuguese newspaper Record confirmed that Sporting CP has pulled out of the race to sign the Fluminese midfielder.
Journalist Bruno Andrade claimed that super agent Jorge Mendes is organizing a potential move to England. And Fulham are one of the top suitors to sign him this summer.
However, all these rumours can just be false to fuel interest in other parties. This also happened with another client of Jorge Mendes, Manuel Ugarte’s case earlier this summer.
The 22-year-old is a progressive defensive midfielder who debuted for Fluminense’s first team in 2020. And he has made 144 appearances for his boyhood club and made a name for himself being a regular starter for the club.
Moreover, Liverpool needs midfielders to improve their squad depth. However, Andre shouldn’t be their top priority, they should focus on signing Lavia first and then explore other options.
