Barcelona wants to sell Frank Kessie to the Premier League this summer and Liverpool are one club that have been linked with the midfielder.
As per Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are hoping to sell Kessie next week. The Spanish clubs see the English top flight as his next destination.
Kessie enjoyed an unbelievable stint in Milan and was hailed as ‘devastating’ by the club’s former striker Antonio Cassano. However, he has been unable to replicate his form in La Liga.
While Kessie did net a late winner against Real Madrid in March, it proved to be his only league goal for Barcelona as he managed only seven starts last season.
Kessie to move to PL as a Liverpool player?
The report claims that Barcelona will now look to move Kessie on. They are hopeful of getting a fee from an English club, while Juventus are only interested in facilitating a loan deal.
The 26-year-old is said to be eager to prove himself in Spain. However, if he is to move to the PL then he would only be interested in joining a ‘Big Six’ club.
Liverpool are one club who have been heavily linked with Kessie this summer. The Daily Mail reported last month that they were considering an offer of £30m to lure him to Anfield.
Also, the Reds look set to be closing in on a deal for Romeo Lavia this week. However, they could still look to add another midfielder if both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson secure moves to Saudi.
The question now is: Could the Ivorian rediscover his form at Liverpool?
Frank Kessie was very highly rated during his time at AC Milan and moreover, lived up to it. Also, he would perhaps be given more of a chance in Barcelona if they weren’t in desperate need of some cash.
However, Liverpool could look to take advantage of his looming exit. Moreover, Klopp is the one manager that could definitely get him back to his best.
The Reds need to bring some more experience to their new-look midfield. Moreover, Kessie could be a great addition, with his 35 league goals over five years for Milan looks very intriguing.
Whether the Merseysiders will want to meet his £30m valuation is another story. While their midfield transfer spree potentially reaches close to £150m if Lavia joins.
