Liverpool committed to midfielder’s transfer, deal will be agreed for £44million

According to the reports Liverpool are on the verge of signing Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes. The transfer deal could cost around £44M according to The Telegraph.

Liverpool are desperate to sign a new midfielder to strengthen their midfield position. With a potential failure to sign Enzo Fernandez, LFC seems to shift their number one target toward the Premier League midfielder.

Nunes to Liverpool done deal?

Matheus could be in Read’s shirt as early as next season. The Brazilian impressed at Sporting Lisbon before moving to Wolves, although he is not quite at his best in his time in the Premier League so far. However, the Merseyside giants seem to believe in his quality.

The Telegraph suggests that the Merseyside giants assistant Pep Lijnders is key to all these decisions. He has earlier approved the signing of Darwin Nunenez, Luiz Diaz, and Cody Gakpo.

After the signing of Holland international Cody Gakpo, another area that LFC needs to address is its midfield. There is growing optimism inside the camp about the signing of Wolve’s midfielder.

The 24-year-old along with Jude Bellingham could act as the perfect replacement for James Milner and Jordan Henderson. Liverpool’s midfield is aging which is a major concern for Klopp. Thus, the Reds are looking to fill the shoes by signing some young midfielders.

Reds need a reshuffle

The average age of Liverpool’s squad is 27.2 years. It is one of the most aging squads in the Premier League. This caused a drop in intensity for the English side. Liverpool’s most goals come from counter-pressing. But that requires speed, stamina, and intensity for ninety minutes.

Liverpool are desperate to take back their top 4 spot. Thus, the Reds are rushing to secure a quality midfielder. Nunes is currently under contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Will LFC be able to secure this Nunes deal?
