Williams to complete his move to Nottingham forest

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest has set a medical for Neco Williams as they complete his transfer from Liverpool.

Following a last-minute drive by Southampton to close a deal before them, the newly-promoted Premier League team increased their bid for the right-back, 21, to £16million.

Williams is currently putting the last touches on a move to Forest. And it is anticipated to be finished at the latest by the end of the weekend.

The signing of full-backs on both flanks is being worked on by Forest. As they are also in advanced negotiations to sign Omar Richards.

On Monday (4 July), Football Insider reported that although Forest and Williams had reached a personal agreement. But the deal had been seriously hampered by Liverpool’s value of £20 million.

At Liverpool, the right-back has fallen down the pecking. As Trent Alexander-Arnold is the starting right-back and the club recently purchased Calvin Ramsay, 18, for an initial £4 million,

Throughout the second part of the season, Williams played a significant role for Fulham while out on loan, appearing 14 times as they swept to promotion.

His Anfield contract is up in the summer of 2025, giving the club the confidence to demand a high transfer fee.
