Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has called up club academy product Tyler Morton to train with the first team in pre-season. We can suggest that he might be playing with the senior team in the next season.
The Reds are set to start the new season with everything they have. They endured a pretty rough season and missed on the chance to qualify for the Champions League. Thus, they will jump back on it again and will try to qualify for top-tier football with Klopp’s guidance.
Although the team performed badly throughout the season but towards the end of the campaign their former dramatically improved. And to maintain the same level of football, the club has also looked into and addressed the issues of the team.
And as an improvement measure, the Merseysiders have started signing some players.
The club identified their lack of quality in midfield and signed Argentine World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister. Soon after this signing, the club signed Hungarian captain Dominik Szoboszlai.
All these new signings might be a little concerning for young midfielder Tyler Morton who would likely get no place in the team. Now Klopp would have to think quickly about the youngster’s future for the next season.
Tyler Morton spotted with Liverpool senior team training
The English midfielder posted a picture of himself with the German coach in his Instagram story with a caption that said, “Back to it.” Klopp has made it very clear that he likes the 20-year-old.
Morton already appeared for the Anfield giants in the Champions League match against AC Milan in 2021. Liverpool won the match 2-0 and Klopp commented on Morton,
“I don’t want to make his life any more complicated than it is already, playing at such a young age for a club like Liverpool in a game like this with a performance like this.
I think we should all calm down but it was really good tonight and a big pleasure to watch the boy playing.
The football brain he showed tonight was absolutely exceptional.”
Morton was on loan to Blackburn in the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 40 Championship games and put in 1.5 tackles and 0.5 interceptions per game (Stats via WhoScored).
Despite being praised so much and regarded highly by Jurgen Klopp, it would be tough for Tyler Morton to find a spot in the squad.
There are already several senior midfielders and also Klopp has to give playing time to Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Stefan Bajcetic.
So the best option left for the youngster is to get another loan move to get more playing time and gain more experience.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
